It was a truly lovely day, and especially so as our guide, Martin, was wonderful. He
was so informative and knowledgeable that we came away bursting with knowledge and
information! It really made our day out a memorable and great day – he
has a large fan club in Hampshire! Many many thanks for a fantastic
tour.

I am
writing to say how much we enjoyed our Lee Valley Olympic our last Tuesday,
10 May 2011. Both our guides (Doug & Gail) were fantastic and so knowledgeable
– we learned so many different things – one of which helped my husband and myself
in a quiz last Saturday! It was good to have time to walk around Waltham Abbey and
then to enjoy the delicious cream tea (fresh, warm scones and lashings of jam and
cream). The second cups of tea and coffee were much appreciated. Everyone thought
it was a great day out and have been telling their friends about it.

Thank you for an excellent tour of the London Olympic sites on Wednesday 23 February
2011. We all had a very enjoyable day out in London with your excellent guide Barbara,
who was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. We have had a number of
phone calls and letters saying how much they had enjoyed the day. Ron Parr, The Friends of St Nicholas Great Wakering
I have
now been on three of your Olympic tours, the others being the Olympic London
Explorer and the Lea Valley Olympic Tour. All have been excellent, but the Land
of Hope & Glory managed to surpass both the other two and although the
prodigious memories and the breadth and depth of knowledge of your Blue Badge
Guides never fail to amaze and impress me, Victoria was outstanding in all
respects, with a sparkling sense of humour to match.
You have
told me previously that some NADFAS societies express doubts as to whether these
tours will satisfy their exacting standards. All I can say is, they need have no
fears! We have never been disappointed.

Everything
went like clockwork and Martin, our guide, was excellent as was the roast beef
dinner... The whole day was well planned and we all thoroughly enjoyed it and
learned quite a lot. Thank you for all your organisation, it
certainly made for a relaxing day for me!

Carol
was a first class guide who bought both the history and present day
aspects of the Olympics very much to life in an informal, friendly manner, which
kept everyone totally interested throughout.

Like you to know we had a great day out on Tuesday 23rd November to Brentwood music
museum and you were right it was a really entertaining concert, made more so with
Victoria our guide, who was so passionate about the museum and players. Then
followed by an extremely informative tour back into London with lights and great
anecdotes. Finishing in the magical “Somerset House” with skating and hot drinks.
All my party have commented on how much they enjoyed the day out. So thank you for
helping me to make it a great day, and a big thank you to Victoria for putting the
"icing on the cake”.

Just to let you know that
we have had a most enjoyable day on our Mendip trip. Martin, our guide was
superb, very knowledgeable and patient with some of our older members. The
City Arms was an excellent venue. Our lunch was delicious and we would
thoroughly recommend that you use them again.Thank you for all your
help.

The
whole day was excellent. Gillian, of course, was a splendid guide and everybody
warmed to her at once. The content of the day could not have been better. We
spent some time in the Synagogue while Gillian explained in detail about the
building itself and also talked about religious ritual and quite a lot about
Jewish social life generally. To be sitting down while they listened suited the
group perfectly. A very interesting walk afterwards and a great area for the
lunch stop. Lots of interesting information on the coach from Gillian as we
drove to Camden. The museum was great.

Just a
brief note to say how much we enjoyed our Kill or Cure tour of London on
Thursday 24 March 2011. Your Blue Badge Guide, Sean, made it so interesting with
his very extensive knowledge of everywhere we went and his light touch and
amusing stories of the horrors of early medicine –all much appreciated by
our group, many of whom had either lived or worked in the area. It was a
very happy day and much appreciated.

This was
my first tour I had organised with City & Village Tours although I had
supported Pamela Hatfield for many years whilst she was organiser.
Congratulations to the guide Jan, her enthusiasm & knowledge certainly made
the day so special and enjoyable for the group.
It was a
pleasure dealing with your company, with so many tours available, I am sure we
will be booking with you again.

Thank you for organising our April trip to Hampstead. It was perfect in
all ways. We couldn’t have had better weather and Sarah, the guide, was superb;
friendly, unflappable and full of interesting facts. I hope we have her
again although I think all your guides are good.

I am so pleased to have found your company! The two London Olympic Explorer tours I
have booked through you this month have been most successful. Both last week and this
we have had very satisfied members and two really interesting and informative
tours which ran very smoothly.

We had a
thoroughly enjoying and extremely informative day with Marigold on our 'Made In
Birmingham' visit yesterday. Birmingham certainly turned out to be a lot
more interesting than any of us expected and Marigold was wonderful at answering
lots of questions fired at her. Please pass on our grateful thanks for such an
excellent day. I think many of us will be returning to Birmingham to see more of
its treasures.

I meant to write before to
say how nice the Cruising into Christmas was the Sunday before
last. It was good to
put a name to a face too when we met. What an informative cruise that was and
everyone was so friendly - slick operation! We were so lucky with the
weather - couldn't believe what a lovely day it turned out to be after all the
snow etc.
